- Reporting directly to the vEC Executive Director with professional reporting to Chief of Behavioral Health Services
- Provide direct patient care at a minimum of 2 clinical sessions per week.
- Set clinical standards, including integration of evidence-based clinical practice, building this into new and existing patient care delivery systems.
- Participate in senior management business and clinical quality strategy development and implementation.
- Focus teams and organization units on visions and distinctive strategies that improve short- and long-term performance.
- Develop core curriculum for telehealth clinical training.
- Provide oversight of all clinical staff.
- Directly supervise APP staff.
- Handle escalation and support for on-shift Physician and APP staff as needed.
- Serve as clinical lead for survey preparation and implementation.
- Evaluate and assess clinical providers.
- Create frameworks for performance evaluation, feedback, and learning for clinicians (e.g. peer review, professional practice evaluations, etc.).
- Partner and collaborate with the provider staff and management team, facilitating teamwork and shared goals.
- Help represent provider staff viewpoints to administration and relay administrative views to provider staff.
- Create and manage monthly AMION scheduling for all providers with administrative support.
- Participate in weekly service leadership meetings to ensure growth and quality.
- Follow-up on provider and patient grievances.
- Lead clinical and population health analytics for the service line (e.g. patient-level risk stratification).
- Develop and monitor quality measures for new payment models (value based/risk-based payment structures).
- Develop and implement strategies for provider recruitment and retention.
- Design career paths for clinician leaders.
- Assist in the development of budgets and allocation of funds based on studies of costs, reviews of departments/divisions, familiarity with operating procedures and discussions with department heads.
- Act in liaison with Central Office and Hospital Facility leadership to assist in providing professional, technical, administrative, and support services. May represent the facility in development of cooperative relationships with community and in matters involving City, Regional, State, and/or Federal agencies.
- Perform other related duties as requested by the Executive Director and BH lead of the system.
- Medical Doctorate (MD or DO) with Board Certification in Psychiatry.
- Possess a New York State License to practice medicine in the State of New York, as well as current DEA, BCLS and ACLS certification and Infection Control Certification.
- Familiarity with pediatric and adolescent psychiatry preferred.
- Experience providing urgent or crisis behavioral health care, including through telepsychiatry platforms preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in clinical or administrative roles, preferably in fast-paced or urgent care behavioral health settings.
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare operations, including regulatory standards, quality assurance, performance improvement, and behavioral health integration within medical settings.
- Leadership experience is preferred.
