Duties Description Position is directly related to Health and Safety. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
  • scheduling staff assignments to maintain adequate security coverage;
  • assisting staff in the resolution of security-related problems;
  • investigating security incidents and interviewing witnesses;
  • coordinating activities with local police agencies, performing security patrols;
  • monitoring security cameras and alarms;
  • controlling access to restricted areas and at off-site work locations when needed;
  • validating visitor access;
  • maintaining security logs and preparing security reports;
  • supervising, training and evaluating employee performance, and directing people to emergency egress routes.
Appointees may be required to work various shifts and unscheduled overtime, when necessary.Appointees will be required to cover special security hearings.Travel required.Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list.ORCandidates must have one year of permanent or 55b/c service in a title designated as appropriate for transfer in accordance with Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.Additional Comments We offer a work-life balance and a generous benefits package, worth 65% of salary, including:Holiday & Paid Time Off

For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position.
