- The Electrical Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment.
- Operationally checks all systems, sub-systems, and associated line replaceable unit (LRU) removal and installation.
- Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
- The Electrical Aircraft Technician will perform maintenance and modifications on assigned aircraft using electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and other test support equipment.
- Interprets and advises on maintenance procedures and policies to repair aircraft and related equipment.
- The Electrical Aircraft Technician installs units, parts, equipment, and components in avionics assembly, according to blueprints and specifications provided.
- Fabricates and assembles prototype equipment for a variety of military aircraft and is familiar with military technical manuals, technical orders, modification work orders and blue prints.
- Coordinates with project engineer personnel throughout the project and provides technical assistance to project engineers.
- Services, repairs and overhauls aircraft to ensure airworthiness.
- Repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft components, such as wiring harnesses, power distribution systems, and functional components including communication/navigation systems, and flight control/aircraft monitoring systems using hand tools, power tools, machines, equipment, soldering irons, and connector installation tools.
- Reads and interprets maintenance manuals, technical manuals, FAA FAR’s and commercial aircraft manuals.
- Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.

- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical or Military School Training preferred
- Minimum of five (5) year’s total electrical experience with Fighter/Attack/Bomber aircraft maintenance (preferably F-16) as an electrician primarily in the in military aviation field or appropriate military occupational specialty training.
- Must have experience working with aircraft wiring. Technicians will be installing Avionics system modifications by routing, terminating 10/100 and Gig Ethernet wiring, copper wires, primary power wires, Coaxial wires, shielded twisted pairs/triplets, and possibly triaxial wires/connectors.
- Must have a minimum of an active U.S. SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. SECRET clearance and be subject to a government security investigation.
- May work in hazardous working conditions, near flight lines; some assignments are within an uncontrolled climate facility.
- Must be able to see with corrective eye wear and hear clearly with assistance (normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123). While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, or crouch. The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Expected to handle/manage hazardous materials/waste in accordance with regulatory and industrial standards. Wears/maintains personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, hearing, extremities, respiratory devices, protective shields and barriers as required.
