DescriptionAs the Practice Lead you will be responsible for the technical leadership and advancement of the Structural Engineering Practice. You will engage in the generation of Practice growth objectives in collaboration with the Senior Director and the Director of Engineering. You will use extensive technical knowledge to direct and implement designs, develop and mentor teammates, participate in strategic planning, build strong internal relationships with other market leadership, and participate in marketing, project planning, business development, thought leadership, proposal development, and client interviews.Job SummaryThe Practice Leader establishes, manages, and leads practice efforts. Develops innovative solutions for all practice projects including project delivery, risk management, quality of design and technical processes, financial management and project-team personnelJob Responsibilities
  • Develops and executes team business plan and marketing strategy. Guide and lead others based on deep expertise in a specific market.
  • Provides expertise in client management for contract negotiation, winning work strategy, growing market share, and ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Responsible for managing a team ensuring direct mentorship and employee development strategies. Drives team for success in financial health, people health and client satisfaction.
  • Guide and oversee Team Leaders and Senior Project Managers. May act as lead project manager for multiple projects and mentor and grow other project managers and technical staff.
  • Responsible for winning work and growing market share by leading proposal and pursuit initiatives.
RequirementsRequired Education & Experience
  • Outstanding leadership presence and communications skills with the ability to inspire and quickly build trust and develop collaborative relationships across all markets and working groups internally and the throughout the industry.
  • A fresh, forward-looking approach and the willingness and vision to act as a change agent.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to support, facilitate, lead, and motivate others through influence and respect.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum 15+ years' experience in structural engineering on a wide variety of projects. Minimum 5+ years' team management experience.
  • Professional Engineer Registration required.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
