Job Title: Construction Quality ManagerJob DescriptionJoin a dynamic team in building a brand new power plant in Burlington, Iowa. As a Construction Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the electrical inspection and quality assurance activities for this 760MW Simple Cycle power plant project featuring 3F class Siemens CT large engines. You will ensure that all construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.Responsibilities
  • Control and distribute all company quality documentation.
  • Monitor all quality-related activities on the project.
  • Perform daily inspections of the work being performed onsite.
  • Conduct all internal and external audits on behalf of the company's management.
  • Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
  • Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements.
  • Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports.
  • Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system and recommend improvements when required.
  • Review and provide comments on all quality-related correspondence with the contractor's representatives.
  • Monitor statistical method reporting.
  • Review all turnover documentation upon completion of the project.
  • Participate in all quality-related activities with designated representatives.
  • Attend monthly, weekly, and daily meetings to provide perspective on quality-related subjects when needed.
Essential Skills
  • 5 years of experience in construction quality management, with construction experience preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in construction management, power plant operations, engineering, and contractor oversight.
  • Knowledge of natural gas and LNG power plant operations.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes two sites, Cedar Rapids and Burlington, each requiring their own quality manager. You will be on site 5-6 days a week for the duration of 5-7 years. The Cedar River Generating Station is a natural gas electric generating facility with a capacity of approximately 94 net megawatts (MWac), consisting of five Wärtsilä W18V50SG RICE generators, each with a nominal capacity of 18.8 MW. The project is located adjacent to the existing Prairie Creek Generating Station. Working directly for the utility, you will receive a GSA per diem rate with optional mileage reimbursement, provided you have your own truck.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Madison, WisconsinPay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
