Highfields, Inc. began in 1962 as a residential camp for troubled boys in Ingham County. We serve about 8,000 people in 13 mid-Michigan counties and are currently seeking a qualified a Counseling Assistant.The Counseling Assistant works with the master level clinicians to provide in-home or community-based mental health treatment planning, case management, referrals, crisis planning and support for families with children in two primary subgroups: ages zero through three and ages four through twenty.Services provided to clients in Jackson and Hillsdale counties during traditional and non-traditional hours allowing for a flexible schedule. Paperwork and documentation may be performed remotely, as there is no expectation to be in the office.You should have a bachelor's degree in the mental health field and at least one year experience working with children and adults (internship will be considered). Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mental health related field.
  • State licensure commensurate with position requirement (Consideration given if currently in process of obtaining or ability to obtain.).
  • One year or more experience in coordinating services for children and families.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to show sensitivity to the service populations’ cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
