The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality English language instruction to non-native speakers, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, and ensuring that the educational objectives are met during the temporary absence of the regular ESL teacher.ESL Teacher Duties/Responsibilities
- Implement a well-structured and engaging ESL curriculum that aligns with the institution's educational goals.
- Plan and deliver effective lessons to enhance students' language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Evaluate students' language proficiency through various assessment methods.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their progress and areas for improvement.
- Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and student engagement.
- Effectively manage classroom behavior and create a conducive atmosphere for learning.
- Maintain open and regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Collaborate with the regular ESL teacher and other staff members to ensure a smooth transition during the maternity leave period.
- Stay informed about the latest ESL teaching methodologies and resources.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- Keep accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
- Provide necessary documentation for the regular teacher to review upon return.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English or a related field.
- PEL License with an ESL and ELA Endorsement is required
- Proven experience in teaching ESL to diverse groups of students.
- Familiarity with ESL curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and create an inclusive learning environment.
