1st shift: $20.90 per hour.
2nd shift: $20.90 per hour plus shift differential. Responsibilities:When your actions lead to success:
- Champion and foster a safe work environment by adhering to all safety and regulatory procedures. Ensure all regulatory and OSHA standards are implemented and adhered to including, but not limited to, LOTO, working at heights, confined space, hot work, training, recordkeeping, etc.
- Champion food safety compliance and readiness, particularly by following and enforcing Safe Quality Food (SQF) and good housekeeping guidelines.
- Managing day to day operation that will support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wear steel tipped shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, etc.
- Follow all SOP’s procedures is mandatory.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Review and understand Print Master for ink requirements.
- Monitor and understand X-rite and L*a*b* readings.
- Operate and maintain all equipment. (Ex. Ink Dispenser, K-Proofer and Hand Rollers, etc.)
- Support maintenance dept. and perform preventive maintenance of equipment with assigned PM tasks.
- Maintain complete and accurate record of all technical information. (Ex. Q.C X-rite under a Delta E of 1.00 and record it on the Daily Color Match form).
- Learn to troubleshoot at press side by recording and monitoring press run / downtime.
- Clearly communicate to other shifts and involved personnel the status of any job (s) being worked on during, before or after your shift has ended.
- Follow staging procedures to storage inks at the established staging area based on the daily press schedule (Goal is to stage 8 to 24 hrs. prior).
- Identify press returns and follow the work off program of materials to insure low dormancy levels. Utilize Ink dispenser for inventory control, work off and batch production.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Completing other related duties as assigned by managers or supervisors.
- Reading and writing skills corresponding to the level of High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating a printing press (Flexo, Stack, Litho, Gravure).
- 2+ years' experience operating Ink dispenser, X-Rite Exact Spectro, Lab Mixer, Kit Mixer (air driven), Hand Proofer, Lab and production scales.
- Basic knowledge of different ink types.
- Must pass color blindness test.
- Mathematical skills.
- Ability to read a measuring tape.
- Ability to read, write, and understand simple and concise instructions or information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of solvent ink formulations, Flexographic printing and laminating processes.
- Computer literate: Demonstrates computer proficiency and comfort with Word, Excel and PowerPoint software necessary for day-to-day operations.
- Ability to interpret work order and Print Master.
- Possess visual acuity to sufficiently identify product non-conformances including basic colors and shades.
