
Data Center Operations Specialist

- Install and maintain data center infrastructure, including cabling, racks, PDUs, switches, and cable management systems.
- Perform hardware installations, moves, adds, changes (MACs), and decommissions.
- Physically assist with racking, stacking, and relocating IT equipment.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, including power and environmental systems.
- Conduct IT system power cycles and replace failed hardware components.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware and ensure compliance with asset management processes.
- Enforce security protocols and compliance standards within the data center.
- Ensure proper destruction of data on decommissioned systems in accordance with company policy.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency of the data center environment.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 3 years of experience in a data center or equivalent infrastructure environment required.
- Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location required.
- Strong understanding of data center operations, including power, cooling, and space planning.
- Hands-on experience with IT hardware installation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with data center technologies such as cabinets, racks, PDUs, and environmental monitoring systems.
- Experience with ticketing and incident management systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
