- Assists the Director in developing long and short-range goals to assist in the meaningful engagement of our alumni and their support of Kentucky State.
- Develops and implements strategies to raise the participation rate of support by alumni.
- Maintains a computerized records system of alumni.
- Updates alumni records to ensure they are accurate as possible.
- Develops detailed procedures for the maintenance and dispersal of alumni records.
- Runs reports of alumni records as requested using the alumni management software Raiser’s Edge.
- Assists young alumni seeking personal and professional connections for networking opportunities.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of alumni programs and services, identifying problems, recommending improvements and instituting changes.
- Serves as a resource to alumni on university programs and activities.
- Supervises and trains student and alumni volunteers to support the goals of Alumni Relations and mission of the University.
- Assists with the planning and management of signature alumni events including Homecoming and reunion programs.
- Provide assistance with alumni events on- and off-campus.
- Provides news content and event schedules for the University’s e-newsletter On the Hill.
- Monitors and maintains content on the Alumni Relations webpages.
- Maintains a master calendar for all alumni events planned and implemented though Alumni Relations.
- Performs administrative duties as necessary.
- Related duties as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience working with data and databases.
- Experience with event production.
- Experience with office administration.
- Ability to proofread and edit documents.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Experience motivating teams of volunteers.
- Ability to work well with diverse groups.
- Ability to strategize, implement and build programs, activities and services.
- Familiar with the University’s programs and key initiatives and able to share with various audiences.
- Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, including early mornings, evening and weekend.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with limited direction and supervision, great attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, highly energetic and comfortable working both collaboratively with a team and independently.
- Ability to meet deadline and handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Ability to continuously stand or walk.
- Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and life frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
