We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to lead and manage a diverse range of construction projects, including civil/concrete, equipment installations, repair/maintenance, equipment demolition, rigging, general contracting, and various industrial construction endeavors. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting modifications and upgrades to existing facilities, as well as spearheading new construction projects across industries such as automotive, electric generating, steel mills, manufacturing, and water/wastewater facilities.Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and guide construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to define project specifications.
  • Manage comprehensive document control for all projects.
  • Assist in master schedule preparation, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Coordinate and lead project-related meetings.
  • Manage prime contracts and subcontracts.
  • Ensure overall direction, completion, and financial success of projects.
  • Review job estimates, sign off on proposals, and create job schedules, work orders, and budgets.
  • Prepare project status reports and ensure work aligns with contract specifications.
  • Monitor materials and work completed for accurate pay requests before billing deadlines.
  • Act as a liaison between the owner, engineers, and company personnel to foster and enhance relationships.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions as per quality and safety programs.
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality standards through rigorous quality inspections.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer in the construction industry.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work from home.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe, Project, and Primavera P6.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Ability to travel throughout Michigan and the Mid-West.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and updating MS Project and Primavera (Preferably P6) schedules.
