UTILITY OPERATOR

- Assist in operating the coal and water treatment systems.
- Operate mobile equipment, as required.
- Operate a vacuum truck.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and maintain records/logs on equipment operated.
- Check fluid levels, change oil/filters, lubricate, and maintain fuel levels on all equipment operated. Report all equipment problems to the supervisor, as required.
- Assist other departments with work area preparations and by performing miscellaneous duties, as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree in power plant technology program, process technology program; or
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED) and 6 months of related construction, industrial, coal-based plant, or other industry-related experience.
- Completion of the Utility Operator qualification program within 90 days of implementation.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability and willingness to learn safe, efficient work and equipment operating practices and procedures through classroom and on-the-job training.
- Ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms.
- May be required to work under pressure when necessary.
