- The Tax Analyst is responsible for tax compliance preparation and research with respect to state and local sales and use taxes in multiple US jurisdictions. The position will also interface with different departments across the Company to ensure timely and accurate sales and use tax filings.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Preferred 1-2 years' state and local sales and use tax experience in a Corporate Tax or Public Accounting environment.
- Experience with manufacturing industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of Oracle and/or Vertex preferred.
- Willingness to learn multistate sales and use tax rules.
- Strong tax research skills and attention to detail.
- Possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting deadlines with accurate and detailed results.
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills.
- Assist in preparation of state and local sales, use, and property tax returns.
- Ensure SOx compliance through documentation and compliance.
- Conduct tax research related to business activities and transactions.
- Support sales and use tax examinations.
- Assist in determining nexus, identifying filing requirements, and registering by legal entity to ensure tax compliance in multiple US jurisdictions.
- Prepare monthly sales/use tax journal entry, reconciliations and working papers to support the General Ledger tax account balances.
- Respond to state and local tax notices and inquiries.
