- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, including ergonomic evaluations, exposure assessments, and incident investigations to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies
- Provide guidance and advice to management and employees on EHS matters, including hazard communication, industrial hygiene, waste management, and emergency response
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to drive EHS initiatives, develop action plans, and monitor progress towards achieving EHS goals
- Establish and deliver effective EHS training programs to increase awareness, knowledge, and compliance among employees
- Develop and implement metrics and systems to monitor EHS performance, track trends, and identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with applicable EHS regulations, permits, and licenses, and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Stay abreast of emerging EHS regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements, and recommend appropriate strategies and solutions to enhance EHS performance
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting proactive safety behaviors, conducting safety audits, and recognizing and rewarding safe practices
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior EHS staff, fostering their professional development and growth
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent related experience
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant agencies
- Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive EHS programs in a complex organizational setting
- Strong understanding of EHS principles, risk assessment methodologies, and hazard control strategies
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and driving change management initiatives
- Proficient in using EHS management systems, databases, and software
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are desirable
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to synthesize complex information
