- Direct all phases of safety engineering for programs from inception through completion.
- Serve as liaison between airplane project management (Boeing), Systems and Safety project management (Collins), planning, stake holder project teams (Systems, HW, SW) and line management.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects and suggests appropriate adjustments to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget.
- Record and document delay, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations.
- Pursue all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability.
- Perform critical path analysis and prepare and implement work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects.
- Conduct meetings, consolidates, and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s).
- Identify and react to project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications.
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 8 years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Safety Engineer or related role. Alternatively, must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Safety Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
- Must possess at least 5 years working on Avionics Displays Systems.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience leading teams of engineers to project completion.
- Must possess at least 5 years mentoring engineers in Systems and Safety concepts.
- Must possess at least 5 years of experience working with ARP4754.
- Must possess at least 2 years of experience working with ARP4761.
