  • This Packaging Engineer executes solutions on packaging design and usage and related safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Additional Info:
  • This role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation
  • This role is 1st shift
  • This role is 100% on-site with no opportunities for hybrid or remote schedules
  • This role requires up to 10% domestic travel
What You Will Do:
  • Design control for 664 corrugated and paperboard materials
  • Maintain and improve on current designs to meet safety, quality, velocity, and cost goals
  • Create new solutions to support network operations and dealer needs
  • Inventory management actions to achieve optimal balance between availability and turn
  • Schedule collaboration to improve availability
  • Joint Process Improvement projects with strategic suppliers
  • Design new packaging for products based off of key performance indicators
  • Providing detailed guidance and specifications to suppliers
  • Evaluate quality and effectiveness of existing packaging; addressing supplier issues caused by manufacturing defects
What You Have (Required Skills):
  • Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Packaging: Knowledge of packaging tools, approaches and practices; ability to package products and components safely and attractively.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of Aftermarket Parts Network
  • Corrugated packaging industry experience or related technical field
