- Design and implement region security plans, collaborating with business units on Emergency Management plans.
- Develop, monitor, and update country specific security profiles; gathering and reporting security-related information from local and regional sources.
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures across a geographic region.
- Ensure regulatory security guidance is implemented appropriately; establish programs and work roles to continue activities of facility interior and exterior patrols.
- Manage daily security services duties, verifying work programs are met at facilities west of the Mississippi river.
- Oversee duties of escort drivers who carry out safe transportation for Caterpillar employees and visitors within areas of jurisdiction.
- Support security activities at facilities such as access control, emergency response, theft prevention, and investigations.
- Establish procedures and work instructions for contract employees and assess their performance.
- Responsible for the allocation, management, and maintenance of fleet vehicles to ensure optimal operation.
- Responsible for ensuring the review and timely delivery of news, events, and monitoring of regional events, collected from media and social networks.
- Work with directors and department leaders to learn travel and visit itineraries to provide the necessary support and transportation monitoring; keep periodic meetings on safety conditions for employees, visitors, visitors, vendors, managers and supervisors; provide relevant information about events that may alter the safe conditions of Caterpillar workers and visitors (including family).
- Crisis Management: Knowledge of crisis management concepts and techniques; ability to predict, avert, mitigate, and recover from an event that has or could have a severely negative impact on the business.
- Planning: Tactical and Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
- Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Personnel Security: Knowledge of techniques, equipment and processes to ensure personnel security; ability to implement the measures necessary to safeguard an organization's employees and visitors.
- Premises Security: Knowledge of tools, techniques and technologies to ensure premises security; ability to undertake risk assessment and ensure the safety of life and property in physical premises.
- Data Gathering and Reporting: Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data; ability to practice them in a particular department or division of a company.
- Training Programs Management: Knowledge of processes and procedures of training programs management; ability to design, implement, evaluate and develop an organization's training programs to achieve high business performance.
- Language relevant to area of jurisdiction
- 4-year college or university degree
- 15 years’ minimum experience in Security and/or Law Enforcement
- Valid driver's license, driving experience in region, availability to travel 50% of the time
- Experienced in use of Microsoft Office Suite (excel, word, power point, etc..) for development of management presentations
- Experience in personnel management and effective communication
- The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL
