- As the Logistics Engineer (Automation), you will lead and support the design, implementation, and management of automated systems that drive the performance, safety, and efficiency of Aftermarket Parts Distribution Centers. This position has a particular focus on controls, robotic automation, and automated vehicles, but it may also include other types of warehouse automation. You will play a key role in modernizing warehouse operations, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring seamless integration of automation technologies.

- This role requires up to 30% travel
- Lead projects to deploy automated vehicles; providing subject matter expertise for designing use cases, programming, debugging and troubleshooting automated vehicles and other automated systems.
- Serving as the subject matter expert for automated vehicle applications; maintaining the standards and documentation for applications.
- Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to existing equipment and processes to ensure that the automated vehicle systems are installed correctly and operate as designed.
- Providing engineering support for equipment, processes, or facilities ensuring that they continue to function reliably.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance in major logistics facility automation projects, working with internal/external suppliers to support/improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Implementing major systems and the coordination of those systems with the total facility.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineers, technicians, and logistics operations to ensure that automated systems meet the needs of the project and the end-users.
- Project Administration: Knowledge of project administration best practices and ability to use organizational strategies, practices and tools for administering projects.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools, and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application, or operation.
- Industrial Automation/Automatic Control: Knowledge of various industrial automatic control systems, processes and methodologies in a manufacturing environment; ability to design, implement and maintain automatic production systems/processes to improve productivity and efficiency, as well as minimize human intervention.
- Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
- Collaborating: Knowledge of collaborative techniques; ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience integrating AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) / AGV’s (Automated Guided Vehicles), automating material flow/storage.
- Previous experience working with control systems, programming (ex., PLC, HMI), electronics, and automation
- Previous experience with ERP, CAD, and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Previous experience diagnosing and correcting issues with control systems.
- Vendor/Supplier Management: Knowledge of external provider management processes and ability to effectively manage the business relationship with external providers (e.g., vendors, service providers, contractors, consultants, and suppliers).
