SLCs are responsible for student supervision, engagement, and education as it relates to independence, safety and self-advocacy. These positions are responsible for student monitoring and engagement during the Residential and After School Programs.Shifts Available:MorningsSwingGraveyardTransportationDuties
  • Supervise students during afterschool, evening, overnight hours and times of transportation.
  • Monitor students behavior and activity to ensure for safety in a variety of settings, including the educational, residential (cottage) and off-campus locations.
  • Communicate with students, supervisors, parents, and school staff using American Sign Language (ASL) and written English.
  • Ensure a healthy, safe, and secure environment.
  • Maintain required communication logs and documentation of student behavior.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Residential Services or Student Life Deans.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language.
  • Develop innovative ideas that provide solutions to all types of workplace challenges.
  • Coordinate and lead small groups, creating a cooperative and productive environment in which to resolve problems or develop and implement plans.
  • Logically integrate various ideas, intentions, and information to form effective goals, objectives, timelines, action plans, and solutions.
  • Effectively communicate information for the purpose of having others learn, understand, and apply specific principals, techniques, or information.
  • Actively take steps to build cohesive and results-orientated team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in an instructional group setting with students.
