Our rapidly-growing construction company is in need of a creative, full-time CAD designer to bring our client’s dreams to life! You’ll serve as our primary architectural drafter and produce original, computer-generated designs in 2D and 3D. Additional responsibilities include meeting with clients, integrating feedback, and revising designs as requested. Communication skills are a must in this role, as you’ll be regularly communicating the design progress to the construction team. Applicants should be experienced design engineers who enjoy highly detailed work, are passionate about working on a project from start to finish, and want to grow their career in the construction industry.   • Work with construction team members to establish a timeline and budget for the design
  • Attend preliminary meetings with the client to understand the project specifications and scope
  • Receive feedback from construction team members and clients and revise designs accordingly
  • Research material properties in large databases to identify the best materials for modeling
  • Utilize computer software to generate 2D and/or 3D designs, depending on the project specifications
  • Notify superintendents and project managers of the design’s progress and when the designs are complete
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in using architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk BIM, Solidworks, 3DS Max, Chief Architect Premier: Construction Drawings, SketchUp, and Lumion
  • Two-year degree or equivalent experience in architecture, construction engineering, design, or related field is preferred
  • Highly attuned to detail and possess excellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skills
  • At least 2 years of experience in architectural design
  • Stay informed about architectural design software trends and knowledgeable about the industry as a whole
