Reporting to the Senior Asset Manager, this role will oversee compliance requirements across the organization's portfolio, ensuring adherence to governing documents, regulatory agreements, and loan documents while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance and optimize asset performance.Responsibilities:
- Ensure all property assets maintain accurate legal and financial compliance documentation, including rent restrictions and loan obligations.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory and partnership agreements, coordinating with staff to maintain standards.
- Establish and manage reporting systems for internal and external compliance.
- Oversee ongoing file reviews to ensure accuracy with income limits, rent restrictions, utility allowances, and resident selection criteria.
- Stay current on updates and changes to regulations from agencies such as TCAC, HUD, HCD, and others.
- Manage annual filings, including SOI, AOP, POP, and tax exemption filings.
- Support Asset Management in preparing reports for funders, investors, and regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with Property Management to maintain compliance, including first-year tenant files and corrective action plans following audits.
- Participate in lease-ups, marketing efforts, and property inspections across the portfolio.
- Review and approve annual property management budgets, monitoring performance against projections.
- Identify and manage properties requiring heightened oversight.
- Manage construction draws for small-scale capital improvement projects.
- Develop and update asset business plans focused on mitigating property risk.
- Contribute to organizational events and community activities as needed.
- 4+ years of experience in affordable housing or residential property management.
- Experience with properties containing multiple funding layers.
- 3+ years of experience with income averaging and lease-up of newly constructed 100% affordable housing.
- Strong knowledge of HUD, TCAC, HOME, HCD, and other affordable housing programs.
- 504 Compliance Certification required.
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) or Tax Credit Specialist (TCS).
- Familiarity with HUD, RAD, HSH, tax credits, bonds, and layered subsidies.
- Understanding of affordable housing management principles, Fair Housing Laws, and landlord/tenant law.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software (Yardi preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
This position offers an annual salary between $110,000-$120,000 in addition to a full benefits package.About our Search Firm:
