The PDM Administrator will play a vital role in managing SolidWorks PDM and related systems. This position requires strong technical expertise, creative problem-solving skills, and exceptional communication abilities to drive successful system changes and integrations. Cross-functional collaboration will be essential in supporting this global role.Key Responsibilities:
SOLIDWORKS PDM Administrator
- Assist in managing software upgrades for all SolidWorks products, supporting the lead in overseeing the process.
- Provide support for configuration changes to the system as needed.
- Collaborate with the reseller and/or SolidWorks to resolve issues as they arise.
- Assist in implementing new functionality as it is added to the software.
- System Administration & Technical Support
- Help oversee and manage Autodesk licenses and support purchases related to Autodesk products.
- Assist in overseeing and managing SolidWorks network licenses including -
- Facilitating purchases related to SolidWorks products.
- Providing technical support for SolidWorks network licenses.
- Monitoring license usage and optimizing the number of licenses needed.
- Support the integration of SolidWorks PDM with Windchill, including publishing servers, custom software and databases.
- Provide comprehensive support to users for all SolidWorks products, ensuring effective use and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
- Provide support for the Virtual Desktop Environment, including VMWare and Azure Local.
- Training & Collaboration
- Create and update video training modules utilizing existing training documentation.
- Lead training sessions covering SolidWorks PDM, integration with Windchill and overall processes and standards.
- Create Knowledge Base Articles for end users, site leads, administrators and IT.
- Collaborate with site leads to keep them informed of changes, new system functionality and future plans. Engage with them to understand and address site needs.
- A minimum of an Associate degree in Engineering Drafting & Design or related field is required.
- 5+ years of experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM. (Must be evident on resume)
- 2+ years of experience as SolidWorks PDM Administrator. (Must be evident on resume)
- Understanding of SQL, with the ability to read and understand SQL queries, and a familiarity with how SQL is used to manage and retrieve data.
- Programming background with knowledge of C#, Visual Basic, REST API and COM API development.
- SharePoint development background with knowledge of PowerApps and Power Automate.
- Basic understanding of server architecture, data storage solutions and network infrastructure.
- Domestic and international travel may be required (up to 10%).
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in MCAD technology to ensure continued excellence.
