Position SummaryAs part of a grounds maintenance crew, operate and maintain specialized medium to heavy power grounds equipment such as skip loaders, backhoes, trenchers, cranes, jackhammers, aerifiers, tractors, fork lifts, dump trucks and riding sweepers/mowers. Position may also perform other grounds related duties such as loading and hauling of materials, planting, and pruning, as well as emergency response.

Qualifications
- Equipment One-year experience in the operation of medium to heavy power grounds equipment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)

- Ability to properly and safely operate power driven equipment (e.g., trencher, back hoe, forklift, jackhammer, crane), as well as various hand tools (Required)
- Ability to work as part of a team through close collaboration with colleagues. (Required)
- Skills in reading standard English text in order to follow through on written orders and carry out assignments. (Required)
- Oral communication skills to obtain or convey clear, concise, and grammatically correct information. (Required)
- Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload, frequent interruptions and/or distractions, deadlines or emergency repairs. (Required)
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments. (Required)
- Working knowledge of standard safe work practices. (Required)
- Ability to stand, crawl, walk and stoop; push and pull, lift or lower objects up to 50 lbs. Ability to push and pull, lift or lower objects weighing up to 80 lbs., with assistance. Ability to work outdoors, in wet or humid weather, and in fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures. (Required)
- Ability to respond to off-hour emergencies and overtime as required. Ability to work weekends. (Required)
- Working knowledge of proper methods in planting shrubs and trees. (Required)
- Must possess, upon hire, and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License in accordance with the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles. (Required)
- Forklift Certification 100 (Required)
