Overview:ABOUT THE POSITIONVHB’s Bedford, NH office is looking for a Water Resources Intern to join our team for the Summer of 2026.Our Water Resources Group is comprised primarily of water resource/environmental engineers and scientists, with a focus on stormwater management, floodplain management, watershed/water quality, and hydrodynamic modeling services. We work with transportation, municipal, energy, and real estate clients.Responsibilities
Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of environmental, land development, transportation, and water resources projects
Conduct a wide array of water resources related studies and analysis including: Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of stormwater systems, analysis and design of conveyance systems, design of stormwater management facilities, coastal impacts, and floodplain analysis
Conduct data collection and field work
Analysis of impaired watersheds and identification of potential areas for stormwater treatment
Support projects related to stormwater permitting compliance for municipal, industrial and transportation clients
Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
Self-motivated with attention to detail
A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
Knowledge of drawing and mapping tools such as AutoCAD and GIS
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental/Civil engineering or a related field
Strong interest in transportation, land development, urban design, real estate, environmental, institutional, or energy sector
Ability to work on a computer remotely if necessary
Ability to travel locally and complete fieldwork if necessary
