- Manage and approve all invoices for fleet maintenance, repairs, rentals, and other services
- Oversee and maintain strategic vendor relationships for maintenance, repairs, parts supply, towing, and new vehicle upfitting, negotiating enterprise-level maintenance contracts to ensure high-quality and cost-effective service
- Collaborate with vendors on new vehicle upfitting and specifications to meet evolving operational requirements, including emerging technologies and alternative fuel options
- Supervise daily fleet operations across multiple locations, ensuring vehicle readiness and optimal performance of all traffic control equipment (e.g., arrow boards, attenuators) in conjunction with the Warehouse team
- Coordinate preventive maintenance programs, inspections, and emergency repairs with warehouse teams and vendors, implementing predictive maintenance strategies to maximize uptime
- Develop and maintain vendor performance standards and KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews
- Manage the full lifecycle of all company-owned, leased, or rented equipment and vehicles, including strategic sourcing, contract management, and invoicing for 3000+ assets
- Oversee capital expenditure planning and ROI analysis for fleet procurement, replacement, and disposition decisions
- Process and manage all necessary documentation and movement for vehicle auction processing
- Conduct regular fleet audits to verify asset conditions, safety compliance, and documentation across all locations
- Maintain optimal fleet utilization rates and implement strategies to maximize asset productivity in collaboration with cross-departmental operations teams.
- Manage cost center performance and contribute to P&L accountability
- Ensure all vehicles comply with federal and state regulations (DOT, MUTCD, NHTSA, FMCSA, OSHA)
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and incident response procedures
- Manage fleet insurance and liability programs, working closely with risk management teams
- Manage insurance estimate, repair and auction process
- Oversee crisis management and business continuity planning for fleet operations
- Maintain all title and registration paperwork for the fleet, ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
- Lead safety incident investigations and implement corrective action plans
- Administer and maintain enterprise-level telematics platforms (Samsara, Element, etc) to track and analyze comprehensive fleet performance data
- Produce detailed analytics and executive-level reports on fleet performance, utilization, cost per mile, fuel efficiency, and maintenance trends
- Ensure system data integrity and establish data governance protocols
- Participate in the implementation of GPS tracking and route optimization systems to improve operational efficiency
- Develop predictive analytics for maintenance scheduling and asset replacement planning
- Lead and develop a team of fleet coordinators, maintenance supervisors, and administrative staff (direct and indirect reports)
- Train warehouse staff and other relevant personnel on fleet programs and telematics systems
- Conduct safety briefings, training sessions, and performance reviews, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Mentor team members and support career development initiatives
- Lead organizational change management for system implementations and process improvements
- Contribute to strategic planning and annual budgeting for the fleet, making data-driven recommendations for vehicle procurement, replacement, and disposition
- Facilitate asset movements and resource allocation across multiple markets and regions
- Collaborate with project managers and safety coordinators on job readiness and specialized equipment needs
- Lead special projects including fleet expansion, efficiency and sustainability initiatives, and enterprise system upgrades

- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in fleet and/or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in a senior management role overseeing large-scale operations (500+ vehicles preferred)
- Proven experience managing teams of 10+ employees across multiple locations
- Demonstrated success in budget management with multi-million dollar P&L responsibility
- Experience with enterprise-level contract negotiation and strategic vendor management
- Steel toed boots or the ability to obtain prior to employment
- Advanced proficiency in fleet management software (Samsara, Fleetio, Element, etc) and enterprise telematics systems
- Expert-level data analytics skills using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms
- Deep understanding of predictive maintenance programs and asset lifecycle management
- Knowledge of GPS tracking, route optimization, and trending fleet technologies
- Experience with compliance reporting and regulatory management systems
- Exceptional leadership and change management capabilities with proven ability to drive organizational improvements
- Strong communication and presentation skills for executive-level reporting
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities with keen attention to detail
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs and risk management strategies

- Comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance, telematics, and compliance reporting
- Deep familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and MUTCD regulations
- Experience with specialized traffic control equipment and construction industry requirements
- Knowledge of insurance and liability management for commercial fleets
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Prior experience in traffic control, construction, or transportation industries strongly preferred
- Professional certifications in fleet management, safety, or logistics (e.g., NAFA, ASE, CSP) highly desirable
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar project management certification is a plus
