Dismantles and cleans all types of hydraulic components;
Performs repair on all types of components using a variety of hand tools;
Operates various shop equipment including lapping machine, drill press, lathe, honing
machine, etc.;
Utilizes prints to ensure correct assembly that meets quality standards;
Orders necessary parts to complete the rebuild;
Handles paperwork to requisition parts, return parts to stock and may create work
orders for outside vendors for chroming, etc.;
Inspects completed units and certifies that they are to Joy standards. Completes
electronic reports and other quality documents;
Operates and maintains test stands and other test equipment;
Paints, packs and ships hydraulic components and completes necessary paperwork;
Properly handles all waste materials;
Prepares and processes paperwork;
Basic computer operations to start and complete daily tasks;
Performs other assignments at the direction of departmental supervision.The above statements reflect general details and do not contain all work requirements of the job.Qualifications/RequirementsUse basic math; perform metric conversions, read assembly, hydraulic circuit, and machine drawings, read piping diagrams, proficient in using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, depth mics, feller, pressure, flow and temperatures gauges, knowledgeable in safety standards such as Haz-com, Lock out Tag out, MSDS, Housekeeping, overhead crane rigging and lifting, electrical, fork trucks. Understanding of ISO standards. Able to operate presses, honing machine, parts washer, paint booth. Able to do welding. Basic computer skills.Two or more years' experience in hydraulic repair. Formal technical training desired.
