- Lead the design and layout for full-scale Dungeons & Dragons products, including core rulebooks, campaign settings, and high-profile releases!
- Establish and evolve visual systems for product lines—creating templates, design languages, and typographic hierarchies that support both usability and immersive worldbuilding.
- Concept and create cover designs, specialty packaging, and non-standard formats (deluxe editions, inserts, accessories).
- Serve as the design lead on projects: scoping design needs, coordinating with editors, illustrators, and production, and ensuring all visual assets deliver at a high standard.
- Support the creative team by mentoring designers and partnering with Art Directors to ensure each product feels cohesive, accessible, and inspiring.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design tools, workflows, and asset pipelines in collaboration with production and digital teams.
- 5+ years of professional experience in graphic design, layout, or publishing with a proven track record to own and deliver sophisticated design projects.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, with expert-level understanding of layout systems and typography.
- A portfolio that shows clean, high-impact editorial design with an emphasis on fantasy, storytelling, or entertainment properties.
- Proven track record to mentor peers, lead design reviews, and provide creative direction on layout execution and visual structure.
- Experience managing production timelines and collaborating cross-functionally with art, editorial, and print production teams.
- Strong creative judgment paired with excellent technical execution and a deep respect for detail.
- Strong communication skills and comfort giving and receiving feedback.
- High attention to detail and organization.
- Experience working with existing IPs and franchises.
- Prior experience art directing or commissioning illustration assets, especially covers or infographics.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards in publishing or interactive storytelling.
- Knowledge of D&D’s tone, audience, and content structure, or similar genre entertainment brands.
- Comfort working across print, digital, and marketing platforms as needed.
- Love for entertainment, other ttrpg brands, and exploring new avenues in traditional graphic design practices.
