General NotesThe Pediatric Mental Health Therapist will work as part of an interdisciplinary, team-based program that cares for patients enrolled in the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) program at Dell Medical School. TCHATT provides telemedicine or telehealth programs to school districts to help identify and assess the behavioral health needs of children and adolescents and provide access to mental health services.PurposeThis position will support Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) patients, guardians, and schools to improve a child’s overall functioning by providing counseling and care management services using a patient-centered, collaborative approach with an interdisciplinary team. The Pediatric Mental Health Therapist will conduct behavioral and mental health assessments, formulate and implement comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans, and complete interdisciplinary team consultation as needed.The therapist will possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail, effective oral and written communication skill, and will possess a commitment to professional ethical and practice standards. This position has an end date of 08/31/2026, renewable based upon availability of funding, work performance, and progress toward goals. Funding is expected to continue.ResponsibilitiesEvaluates and provides diagnostic impressions. Formulates treatment plan according to evidence based practices and protocol. Conducts individual, family and/or group therapy sessions, as needed. Monitors patients for suicidal/homicidal intent and ensures patient safety, if necessary. Undertake crisis intervention, as needed.Participates in all supervision, feedback, and quality assurance checks. Completes documentation in the clinical record related to interaction with individuals-served, families and other service providers in an accurate and timely manner, and in accordance with professional ethics and with both federal and state regulations.Coordinates with referring practitioners, individuals, and family members throughout treatment. Collaborates with project coordinators and administrative assistants to coordinate patient visits.Attends appropriate training workshops, meetings and client staffing, as required.Other related duties as assigned.Required QualificationsLicensed as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent practiced clinician in the State of Texas.Two (2) years of professional work experience.Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or family systems.Strong technology skills, including the ability to perform computer tasks and use the electronic health record systems independently.Proficiency in electronic systems including, but not limited to, Google Suite, Trayt, Slack, Athena, Calendly.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred QualificationsBilingual (English and Spanish). Readiness to adopt new techniques and practices as determined by clinical leadership.Salary Range$65,000+ depending on qualificationsWorking ConditionsMay work around standard office conditionsRepetitive use of a keyboard at a workstationOccasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlinesOccasional interstate, intrastate and international travelField work as necessaryA flexible working arrangement agreement can be accommodated based upon the needs of the program and with supervisor approval.
