- Lead and collaborate with others on business development activities for new and existing clients. This typically includes the following activities: plans, leads and participates in client meetings, networking events, pursuits, proposals, and project execution
- Establish and maintain relationships with municipal clients, understand their needs, and propose services and/or solutions to address their needs
- Work directly with municipal client staff to deliver CIP programs and/or projects, potentially on-site in a staff augmentation setting.
- Develop project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and monitor expenditures to ensure cost control.
- Negotiate contracts including scope and fee, and manage the execution of the contract.
- Lead, coordinate and delegate a variety of Municipal projects to multiple work teams working in multiple locations.
- Collaborate with others on the development and execution of the Municipal Division strategic business plan
- You will plan, direct, and coordinate program and/or project so that projects move forward within the prescribed time frames and budgets.
- Present proposals, program information, and projects to client staff, elected officials, and the public.
- You will anticipate client needs, biases, and preferences and tailor communication and work output accordingly.
- Understanding of compliance with relevant municipal codes, regulations, and environmental standards
- Maintain open and effective communication with clients as well as internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks and challenges, develop risk mitigation strategies, and resolving issues that may arise during project execution.
- Prepare or coordinate preparation of project / client correspondence and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, implement best practices, and promote innovation within the municipal engineering team
- Understanding of alternative funding sources for municipal projects, and ability to secure funding.
- Serve as a mentor to other Municipal team staff
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school,
- Registration as a professional engineer (or the ability to obtain registration within six months) and
- 10+ years municipal experience; direct experience working for a municipality is a plus
- Our preferred candidate would have experience in managing municipal CIP programs and projects, clients, and staff in this market
- A history in delivering projects with positive customer service experiences
- Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, client staff, elected officials, and agency contacts
- A positive attitude, as well as a willingness to learn.
- The ability and desire to develop an understanding of, or even anticipate the client’s needs, is a plus.
