Oregon SurgiCenter has a Full-Time, Certified Nursing Assistant II (CNA II) job opportunity.Oregon SurgiCenter is one of the largest, most advanced urological centers in the Northwest. Our surgery center, Oregon SurgiCenter, is an outpatient surgery center devoted to urologic procedures.This opportunity will allow you to serve our patients and make a difference in their care while enjoying a professional and really fun team!SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses with patient care, and environmental tasks. Conveys a positive image of surgery center.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Assists professional nursing personnel in providing quality, compassionate patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care, using skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques under direction and supervision of a registered nurse
  • Assists in providing direct/indirect patient care as delegated by the registered nurse within the scope of CNA II licensure
  • Perform basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs, measuring or recording fluid intake/output, removing foley catheters, removing IV's, performing urine dip stick, and operation of bladder scanner.
  • Responsible for operating/learning sterilization, cleaning and setting up procedure rooms in a sterile manner.
  • Assist with making beds for the recovery room, apply SCDS, help the operating room turnover cases.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Successful completion of Certified Nursing Aide program and appropriate certification in accordance with State of Oregon regulations.EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year CNA experience is required. Previous surgical experience is highly preferred.REQUIREMENTS: Must maintain appropriate CNA II certificate in Oregon and CPR certification.KNOWLEDGE: * Knowledge of health care field and medical specialty.

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patients needs
SKILLS: * Skill in performing tasks appropriately.

  • Skill in understanding of patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.
  • Basic computer, clerical, phone, etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and performs precise procedures.

ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 45 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
