- Tests raw material, bulk batch and finished good samples according to specifications, records test results and observations with a high degree of accuracy in a laboratory setting.
- Communicates abnormal results/observations to the QC Manager.
- May record equipment temperatures and calibrate equipment as specified.
- Send samples to customers, outside testing laboratories and complete the required shipping documents.
- Complete COAs and provide to QA department for review.
- May collect water samples and swabs for analysis.
- Performs clerical tasks in the laboratory, as assigned.
- Capable of following SOPs and test procedures.
- Assist with ordering laboratory supplies.
- Cross-train and learn incoming material sampling and inspection procedures.
- Must be comfortable entering production area or other areas of the company with varying temperatures to collect samples and perform other quality related activities.
- Employee must be capable of working in environment with potential exposure to chemicals, raw materials, and micro-organisms.
- Able to perform the essential job functions as prescribed in the job description and as instructed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a short amount of time.
- Able to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
- Has good organizational and time management skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – in English
- Basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office required.
- Works with minimum supervision.
- Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and safely.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year experience in Quality Control (a plus)
- Experience working in manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience working in laboratory preferred.
- Experience with MS Windows i.e. Word, Excel
- pH meter
- Viscometer
- Refractometer
- FTIR (Identity) Testing
- Melt Point apparatus
- Scanner
- Regularly required to stand

- Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
- Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
- May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
