Summary:Supervise and coordinate activity of workers engaged in construction projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
  • Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers.
  • Confer with supervisor, managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
  • Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
  • Order or requisition materials or supplies.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment, using measuring and marking equipment.
  • Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
  • Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Implement and enforce safety requirements for the job. Must have completed the OSHA 30 hour construction standards training course within the last 3 years.
  • Required to drive motor vehicle in performance of duties.
  • Ability to walk long distances in rough or variable terrain.
  • Work in extreme hot or cold environments.
  • Must be able to understand and follow safety considerations herein and as applies to the activity involved.
  • May be required to lift up to 80 pounds and carry objects of 50 pounds or less routinely.
  • Must have knowledge and ability to use and run a total station.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Will directly supervise a crew of up to 10 workers.Requirements:Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals. Routine report writing. Effective communication skills. Implement and enforce safety standards.Education and Experience:High School Diploma preferred, one year relevant experience.
