2. Provide non-clinical assistance to the radiologist, and/or technologist during the performance of routine CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Radiology, fluoroscopy, and invasive procedures as appropriately trained. a) Set up trays as appropriate for procedure. b) Assist with portables and daily morning portables. c) Assist with the lifting and transferring of all patients. d) Monitors patient during procedures; notifies Radiologist of reactions or problems.
3. Equipment/Supplies: a) Ensure adequate supplies on hand according to the established PAR levels for the department; ensure no expired items are in inventory. b) Manage all supply orders; coordinate orders with Materials Management. c) Pick up and return supplies to Central Supply on a daily basis. d) Perform a weekly check on pharmacy supplies to maintain the appropriate PAR level. Place pharmacy orders and retrieve the supplies when ready. e) Carries out duties and assumes responsibility for portions of the quality assurance program, as directed by the equipment vendors. This is to include turning on all equipment and proper tube warming. f) Assist with the daily checks required by Joint Commission and other accreditation organizations such as crash cart checks, contrast warmer checks, refrigerator checks, contrast reaction box, Cidex checks, lead apron checks, etc.
4. Systems: HIS, RIS, PHS and PACS. Maintain proficiency on all computer software and systems that are used daily in Diagnostic Imaging following established HIPAA guidelines. a) Verify patient information and check for appropriate ICD-9/10 codes. b) Perform Exam Data Entry (EDE) of start/end times, and materials/supplies to ensure accurate charging. Complete paperwork in Integrad correctly under the direct supervision of a technologist and in a timely manner to assist with expediting workflow c) Assist technologist when needed with paperwork. d) Run a pending work report daily to ensure all exams have been properly charged to ensure proper billing and timely completion of report to referring physician. e) Use PHS scheduling to access future schedules and identify needed research on unclear cases. f) Revise and track necessary orders. Retrieve radiology and Lab results from RIS as necessary. g) Ensures the un-matched order tab is properly completed daily. h) PACS and HIS errors are closely tracked and reported on PI reports following the QA policy. The individual error rate should be less than 2%. i) Assists with training new employees and students on RIS and PACS.
5. Infection Control a) All equipment must be properly disinfected per protocol after each patient; b) Replacing linen after each patient. c) All linen bags in every room and waiting room must be discarded every morning at 7am d) Stock scrubs for the Radiologist and Technologist
