Accurately and efficiently performs various computer functions such as order entry, monitoring specimen reports, and monitoring overdue logs. Responsible for Pathology digital image management. In addition, the Histology Assistant assists with gross tissue examinations including accessioning and ordering. The Histology Assistant follows all laboratory policies and procedures.EducationMust be a high school graduate or the equivalent with a GED.ExperienceTwo years of clinical laboratory experience with 1 year experience in a histology lab is preferred.Other QualificationsKnowledge of medical terminology and word processing systems preferred. Must be able to work rotating weekend as needed. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
