POSITION PURPOSEThe Marketing and Business Development Manager is responsible for pursuing business development opportunities inside and outside of the existing fence lines, assisting in developing greenfield and brownfield projects, negotiating tank leases, servicing existing accounts, identifying/developing potential new business opportunities, and recruiting new customers. Develop and maintain positive client relationships to ensure maximum client satisfaction, advance the marketing goals of the terminal by facilitating day-to-day customer communication, oversee/manage contract negotiations and administration, pursue revenue opportunities within the region, and manage the development of key accounts.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contributes directly to meeting or exceeding stated goals and revenue targets for the US Region
  • Develop, plan, and propose storage tank options for potential new business with environmental and operations personnel.
  • Develop and institute strategic marketing plans for customer and/or product-specific revenue growth
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure that proper facilities are available when commitments are made to customers.
  • Negotiate contracts with new and existing clients, including providing annual escalations and service charges.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with clients and other industry contacts in order to analyze, monitor, and forecast market trends.
  • Develop, cultivate, execute, and monitor the progress of capital projects from origin to completion
  • Organize and attend company/customer functions to build positive customer relationships, and to provide exceptional quality service.
  • Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings/visits with Customers to ensure highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Sets an example by supporting and following all requisite company Safety, Health, and Environmental policies
  • Assists and ensures timely collection of accounts receivable
  • Other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in petroleum and chemical industry consisting of commercial, operations, transportation logistics, and customer service.
  • Knowledge of characteristics and handling requirements of various petroleum and chemical products.
  • Proven skills in management, sales, contract negotiations, business development, and a working understanding of the chemical and crude distribution markets.
  • Proven skills in working with legal teams to thoroughly negotiate multiple concepts within contract negotiations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across various levels of management through excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of general terminal operations and terminal industry marketing required.
  • Proven conceptual and analytical thinker in complex and/or completely new situations.
  • Driven with high internal motivation; minimal direct supervision required
  • High EQ person with strong management skills
  • Excellent analytical skills necessary
WORKPLACE SAFETYRequired Physical Abilities:
  • Sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Outside:
  • Must be capable of operating personal vehicle in accordance with company policy and be licensed by the State of Texas to operate the vehicle. Use of personal vehicle for Regional travel required.
Inside:
  • Work is conducted indoors in an office environment with sitting majority of the time.
  • Heavy computer use.
