Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the finance team. This role focuses on fixed assets, cash tracking, payroll processing, credit policy administration, customer account maintenance, journal entry posting, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities. The position involves collaboration with the Accounting Supervisor to complete month-end tasks and deliver timely reporting.Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Establish standard costing, perform variance analysis, and prepare related journal entries.
Analyze inventory transactions and reconcile month-end balances.
Conduct cost analysis to support decision-making and cost control initiatives.
Perform operations analysis to enhance efficiency and financial insight.
Manage fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and asset verification.
Reconcile general ledger and subledger accounts; collect and balance supporting information.
Generate operational, sales, and financial reports using the ERP system and internal resources.
Maintain internal controls by following policies and procedures; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Collaborate across departments to analyze actual results versus plan and support continuous improvement.
Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field (minimum of 4 years of higher education).
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, data analysis, and reporting).
A minimum of two years of public accounting experience (or equivalent experience in public accounting exposure).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to execute tasks to completion with thorough documentation.
High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting with all levels of management.
Experience with ERP or accounting software; comfortable navigating financial systems and implementing controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in fixed asset management, cost accounting, and inventory analysis.
Knowledge of internal controls and compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with payroll processing and cash management.
Exposure to month-end close processes and financial reporting.
