Position Overview
Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer III to lead the design, development, and evaluation of complex training programs and materials. The role focuses on creating high-quality instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended learning solutions aligned with strategic organizational initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, the ability to mentor peers, and expertise in modern instructional design practices and e-learning technologies.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and implementation of complex training curricula, including instructor-led, virtual, online, and blended programs.Evaluate existing training programs and recommend improvements using proven instructional design principles.Develop training standards to ensure all content is aligned with learning and development guidelines.Perform training needs analysis in collaboration with business partners and clients.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.Mentor peers and provide guidance on instructional design best practices.Recommend delivery methods (instructor-led, e-learning, blended, or other media) based on audience and business needs.Monitor emerging technologies and training trends, recommending adoption when appropriate.Develop assessments and evaluations to measure learning effectiveness and ROI.Analyze evaluation results and collaborate with business partners to improve program outcomes.
Qualifications
Required:Bachelor’s degree in Training & Development, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, English, or related field (or equivalent experience).4–6 years of instructional design and development experience.Expertise with e-learning development tools: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia.Experience designing instructor-led training (virtual or in-person).Knowledge of instructional design methods, adult learning principles, and learning evaluation models.Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom.Ability to mentor others and influence stakeholders effectively.Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Preferred:Master’s degree in a relevant field.Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.Knowledge of best practices for online, virtual, and blended learning solutions.Familiarity with business principles and organizational operations.
Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentMust be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs occasionally.Extended periods of sitting, computer use, and repetitive motions (typing, mouse use).Strong visual acuity for detail-oriented tasks and computer-based work.Effective oral and written communication.Fully remote candidates must have appropriate workspace, high-speed internet, and phone access.
