- Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repair work on various marine engines and systems, including electrical, mechanical, and propulsion systems.
- Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of boats and engines to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
- Customer Service: Communicate with customers to explain repair needs, provide estimates, and offer recommendations for maintenance or upgrades.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional findings.
- Compliance: Ensure that all work adheres to manufacturer specifications and industry regulations.
- Parts Management: Order and manage parts inventory as needed to perform repairs and maintenance efficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and service staff to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification or degree in marine technology or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience as a marine technician or mechanic, with a strong understanding of marine engines and systems.
- Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment; excellent problem-solving abilities; strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Marine Mechanics Certification) are a plus.
- Passion: A keen interest in boating and marine technology is highly desirable.

- High school diploma or GED is required
- Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
