VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is expanding its Interventional Radiology/ Internal Medicine Patient Care Team and seeking a passionate Certified Veterinary Technician!Compensation: $20 - 34 / hourThe starting range for technicians is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.Schedule: This is a full-time position, typically 4 x 10 hour shifts.Why Join Us?Cutting-Edge Facilities: Work in a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest advancements in veterinary technology. Your contributions will directly impact the well-being of pets and their families.Snapshot of Our Internal Medicine and Interventional Radiology Team:VCA Arboretum View's IM/IR Technicians better understand body systems and the disease process, learn advanced diagnostic testing, provide excellent patient care, and treat patients with cutting-edge techniques.With the mentorship of our Internist and Specialists, our Internal Medicine Technicians have advanced training and a better understanding of Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology/Urology, Neurology, Respiratory Diseases and Oncology.
  • Collecting patient histories and performing physical exams.
  • IVC placement
  • Obtain laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collection
  • Gather and prepare tissue samples for culture and histopathologic diagnostic
  • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
  • Assisting in diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and fluoroscopy
  • Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services.
  • Calculate drug dosages
  • Anesthesia monitoring for diagnostic procedures and interventional radiology procedures
  • Assisting with postoperative care of the patient (recovery)
  • Maintain patient records
  • Client education and communication
  • Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately

Qualifications:Active Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) in good standing, or eligibility to obtain certification in the IL.Strong technical skills, including: Venipuncture and IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and familiarity with fluid therapy, sample collection, and laboratory procedures.Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide compassionate client education and supportAbout Us:VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is a well-established, state-of-the-art facility, providing comprehensive medical care to our beloved pets.
