- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Collaborate and interact with different departments in operations and with the Environmental Services team to ensure the proper destruction of gas to enable the generation of carbon credit offsets
- Follow and support all processes and procedures in order to prevent a negative impact to Safety, Quality and/or the Environment
- Immediately report all incidents impacting Safety, Quality and/or the Environment
- Operate and maintain all aspects of the destruction unit and keep standard operating procedures up to date
- Learn the fundamentals of ozone-depleting gas handling and management to ensure safety and environmental integrity
- Assists the supervisors with tracking incoming and outgoing production inventory by properly updating the company's inventory tracking system
- Assists in maintaining preventative maintenance program and performs minor maintenance of equipment and inspection of cylinders prior to filling
- Operate equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders
- Use standard pre-fill and post-fill inspections, tests, and operating procedures before cylinders are released.
- Demonstrate ability to be a safety leader by fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring a safe work environment with a commitment to zero injuries, emissions, and zero leaks
- Must safely operate forklift, clamps, and overhead crane when necessary
- Understands hazards of various gases, size and contents of cylinders by reading safety data sheets and cylinder labels as required
- Tracks downtime and performs root cause to assist in driving continuous improvement
- Fill cylinders or containers to proper capacity and accurately maintain cylinder filling records and ensures that all required procedures are followed to comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Monitors processing equipment performance and makes minor adjustments such as setups, calibrations, troubleshooting, and product testing
- Complete daily fill sheets and cylinder filling records accurately and timely
- Complete and attach warning and other identification tags, labels, and decals to cylinders
- Monitoring and advising on production status, destruction status and equipment
- Maintain ISO programs including 9001 and 14001 and comply with all OSHA requirements
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED required
- Certification or Associate Degree in a related field such as Machining, Industrial or Applied Engineering preferred
- Ability to work overtime hours including weekends when necessary
- Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions
- High attention to detail with the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
- Ability to follow job instructions and be aware of job responsibilities
- Ability to meet KPIs
- Material Handling equipment familiarity
- Strong mechanical aptitude required
- Ability to be trained on ARB/EPA and Regulatory compliance
- Experience with pipe fitting preferred
- Experience with HVAC is highly preferred
- Previously skilled trade experience in machine repair and experience working in a chemical or water processing environment preferred
- Frequently pushes, pulls, moves and/or lifts up to 50 pounds independently
- Sitting 10% of the day; standing and/or walking 80-90% of the time
- Lifting/Carrying from one level to another approximately 40% of the time
- Frequently moves cylinders that can weigh over 200 pounds
- Frequently identifies written information on cylinders such as serial numbers, manufacture date, etc.
- Frequently operates a computer using a traditional keyboard to input detailed information such as serial numbers
- Manipulations (seizing, holding, grasping or otherwise working with hands) up to 75% of the day
- Frequently drives a stand-up powered industrial truck (ie. forklift) and safely maneuvers in restrictive spaces
- Stooping and kneeling up to 20% of the day
- Frequently communicates detailed information to others. Must be able to exchange accurate information that others can understand.
- Constantly works in environments with uncontrolled climate and occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
