- Inspect and maintain generators and associated electrical systems in various commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in the generator, including wiring, controls, and circuit components.
- To ensure optimal generator performance, perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and battery checks.
- Test and calibrate generator systems to meet safety and performance standards.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and resolve issues with generator systems.
- Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and contractors on generator-related projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work, documenting all service activities and parts used.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Respond to emergency call-outs for generator breakdowns or malfunctions, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to generator systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or certification in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
- At least one years previous experience specifically as a generator service technician or mechanic with experience with small engines.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment commonly used in generator maintenance and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
