You will play a vital role in maintaining the large scale landscape and contributing to the overall aesthetics of the base. Your responsibilities will include mowing, edging, hedge trimming, tree trimming, minor irrigation repairs, and other assigned landscape tasks. Building positive relationships with military representatives, vendors, and sub-contractors is essential to the success of this role.Pay: The pay range for this position is $22.58 to $22.58.Status: Full TimeSchedule: Mon- Fri 7a-3pWho you are:
  • A dedicated and skilled gardener who is knowledgeable in grounds keeping.
  • A proactive and self-motivated person who takes the initiative to complete assigned tasks
  • Strong problem solver who able to address landscape issues and respond to emergency repairs in a timely and effective manner.
A typical day will include:
  • Completes various landscape and grounds maintenance tasks including but not limited to mowing turf and field areas using power equipment, edging, blowing, cutting, pruning, weeding, sweeping, and watering
  • Operates various pieces of power equipment including riding lawn mowers, tractor, chain saw, pruner
  • Identify and repair minor irrigation issues such as replacement of irrigation nozzles, heads and valves
  • Fill in for Crew Leader as requested
What you’ll need to be successful:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-years’ experience in landscape or grounds maintenance work, including operating power equipment.
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s license, current auto insurance, and acceptable DMV driving record
We’d love it if you:
  • Have proven landscape maintenance skills
  • Are proficient in using various landscape power tools and mowers
  • Bi-lingual English-Spanish
