- Answers telephones and assists visitors; provides a variety of customer service and public relations to staff, students, parents, administrators, substitutes, other agencies and the community; answers informational inquiries.
- Maintains a variety of records for items such as student discipline.
- Gathers and organizes information for a variety of reports.
- Prepares reports for assistant principal
- Processes paperwork for a variety of payments for activities such as athletics, building use, and other school budgets.
- Serves as ASB accountant at the middle school level.
- Assists Office Manager, Assistant Principal and other staff with scheduling and coordinating meetings and activities.
- Provides back-up and peak-load assistance to office staff.
- Cares for ill or injured students in health clinic in absence of nurse: dispenses medications according to procedures, maintains clinic log, calls parents.
- Trains and monitors student assistants.
- Other duties as assigned
- Reports to and is supervised by building administrator.
- High school graduation or equivalent and two years of office experience;
- Two years of office experience preferably in a school setting.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification if assigned to health clinic.
- A variety of school operations, procedures and policies.
- A variety of computer software applications.
- Customer service techniques.
- Keyboarding, data entry and retrieval, and word processing.
- Oral, written and persuasive communication.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Accomplishing multiple tasks; strong organizational skills.
- Standard English usage, spelling and grammar.
- Ability to schedule and coordinate activities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively as member of a team.
- Ability to work with diverse populations of students.
- Ability to transcribe machine dictation.
- Ability to maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the public.
- Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and collaboratively work with diverse populations
- Ability to perform all duties in accordance with all applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements
- Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations
