
Junior Network Engineer

- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation
- Support security initiatives such as firewall rules, ACLs, IDS/IPS, WAF, and vulnerability remediation
- Document network configurations, diagrams, standard operating procedures, and update technical manuals
- Participate in network upgrades and expansions
- Refine change management processes for implementing network modifications
- Support deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of IP-based security systems, including cameras and access control devices
- Maintain and track network device and software licenses, ensuring timely renewals
- Stay current with networking technologies, standards, and best practices
- Respond to network-related support requests and resolve issues promptly
- Participate in troubleshooting calls and root cause analysis for outages or performance issues
- Work occasional overnight maintenance windows and respond to urgent issues outside of normal business hours when required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, SASE and VPN
- Familiarity with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and rack/unrack networking equipment as needed
- Ability to use ladders or lifts safely to access elevated devices (e.g., access points, antennas, satcom dishes)
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, to support critical maintenance windows and incident response
- Ability to travel to stations or offices as project needs dictate
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Cisco, or Palo Alto equipment
- Exposure to SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with cybersecurity tools and practices
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and software such as Zabbix, Nagios
- Understanding of compliance standards such as ISO 27001 or NIST
