Job SummaryAs a Simulation Engineer at Design Systems, Inc., you will be responsible for developing, verifying, and validating simulation models to evaluate manufacturing systems, material flow, transportation strategies, and production line efficiency. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver with experience in discrete event simulation and a solid understanding of automotive or manufacturing environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, verify, and validate simulation models using dynamic simulation tools (preferably Siemens Plant Simulation)Model and analyze production lines, material handling systems, and transportation networksConduct simulation studies to evaluate:Throughput, bottlenecks, and downtimeDelivery routes and operator efficiencyVehicle, pallet, and carrier resource utilizationStorage capacity and sensitivity analysisCreate and maintain simulation asset libraries (AGVs, conveyors, cranes, ASRS, etc.)Develop and present simulation results and recommendations via reports and presentationsSupport cross-functional teams during project planning and execution phasesCollaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to align simulation outcomes with project goalsMentor junior engineers and support knowledge transfer across the simulation teamQualifications & SkillsRequired:Minimum of 3+ years' experience in simulation model development (preferably with Plant Simulation from Siemens)Solid understanding of discrete event simulation and material flow modelingExperience with manufacturing engineering and production systemsFamiliarity with various material handling and transportation systems (AGVs, fork trucks, tuggers, conveyors, etc.)Programming experience (Plant Simulation SimTalk preferred)Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); VBA experience a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to travel as requiredPreferred:Experience developing simulations for power & free, skid, and monorail conveyor systemsExposure to crane systems, ASRS, and automated storage solutionsPrior experience with bottleneck analysis, resource optimization, and throughput studiesLeadership or mentoring experience in a technical or project environmentWhy Join Design Systems, Inc.?Work on innovative and high-impact projects within the automotive and manufacturing sectorsBe part of a collaborative and experienced engineering teamOpportunities for professional growth and developmentCompetitive compensation and comprehensive travel supportJob Posted by ApplicantPro
