We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety.Job DescriptionThe Automation & Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing automated test solutions to improve quality & productivity in production. The applicant will be joining a growing team that is developing the robust work flows and standard way of working that will be used to help to scale future test development within the department. This individual will need to possess the desire to embrace challenges as well as be a detail-oriented individual who has the demonstrated experience in industrial test software solutions to be able to use INFICON's platform of choice (LabVIEW/TestStand).QualificationsEssential Job Duties
  • Develop and implement automated test systems to improve productivity and ensure the highest product quality
  • Define and prepare comprehensive test systems and corresponding test plans and procedures
  • Develop test software in LabVIEW/TestStand for use in a manufacturing environment by production technicians
  • Work with the Design & Product Engineering teams to ensure test requirements are clearly defined and can achieve high levels of design for testability
  • Create production test solutions within the Test Engineering team's common and modular platform
  • Design and build of electrical/digital test interfaces and fixturing
  • Produce and maintain design artifacts (schematics, software build documentation, etc.)
  • Provide support and troubleshoot existing production test equipment
  • Work jointly on a near-daily basis with INFICON's manufacturing engineering, quality engineering & design engineering groups

Education and/or Experience
  • Minimal requirement B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related engineering degree
  • Demonstrated expertise with National Instruments hardware and programming in LabVIEW/TestStand is preferred
  • Demonstrated equivalent experience with similar platforms is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a SCCS (source code control system) such as GIT, Perforce, TSVN
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC programming is preferred but not required
  • Basic experience in writing SQL or similar queries
Additional InformationFor New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 and $120,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%.
