- Ensures staff and financial resources are utilized appropriately and shifts resources based on business needs within budget restraints. Participates in developing budget recommendations and reports monthly variances.
- Provides oversight and guidance to respective departments with student internship and practicum programs, ensuring programs are current and in alignment with their professional accreditation standards.
- Participates in the development, rollout, and timely execution of the assigned departments strategic plan, including daily management, supervision, coordination and successful completion of projects relating directly to the strategic plan and other Department priorities.
- Works in alliance with the Community Engagement and Clinical Education and other departments to develop and advocate for child and family health and well-being.
- Performs as a master clinician within respective discipline with patients and families and acts as a role model in all functions of the job, mentoring, advancing clinical skills and professionalism. Provides technical expertise on programs, processes, and best practices.
- Leads teams in providing direct patient/family care by conducting needs assessments, developing and implementing interventions, and monitoring the progress, cooperation, and acceptance of services.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with key stakeholders to improve patient and family outcomes and increase patient safety.
- Accomplishes human resources management objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, , scheduling, coaching, counseling and disciplining employees. Communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews job contributions. Enforces policies and procedures. Ensures department is adequately staffed. Plans and reviews compensation actions and manages payroll records and costs.
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (Child Life, Music Therapy, Teacher or Chaplain); Master's Degree preferred
- Requires Certification or Licensure within discipline. Certified Child Life Specialist, Board Certified- Music Therapist, Florida Professional Teacher Certification, Board Certified Chaplain
- Requires minimum of 5 years' experience in respective certified discipline
- Requires 2 years supervisory experience with progressive responsibility
- Demonstrated skill in organizational management techniques, methods, theories, and principals. Excellent communication skills including a high degree of professionalism and personal presence; ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, patient's families, medical staff, hospital employees, leadership and public.
- Knowledge of and comfort with participatory management apporaches with multiple levels of management and staff.
- Demonstrates and is knowledgeable of best practices related to patient and family centered care.
- Requires current infant, child, and adult CPR and AED training
