
Production Manager

- Prioritize and delegate work assignments and directly supervise staff to ensure the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with company quality requirements.
- Establish production schedules to ensure timely delivery of customer products and maintain appropriate lead times.
- Develop plans for the maximum utilization of materials, machines, and employees.
- Establish productivity goals for each manufacturing team
- Ensure production equipment is available with minimal downtime.
- Evaluate, recommend and implement improvements in methods and processes to increase productivity, reduce cost and enhance quality of work.
- Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced cost of manufacturing.
- Enforce safety and work rules, ensure proper use of equipment and establish plant 5S standards.
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental and various regulatory agencies.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including but not limited to hiring, firing, performance management, training, disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and solving problems.
- Contribute to a positive working environment and lead by example.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in production and operations management from a four-year college or university; or ten years related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office suite required
- Experience with SAP and/or WorkWise preferred
- 5-10 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word and Power Point skills
- Strong communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to read engineering prints
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations for manufacturing environments
- Strong management skills related to Project Management
- Strong team leadership, team building and facilitation skills
- Able to work well with other management staff
- Ability to prepare reports, memos, and business correspondence
