- Supports research into internal (e.g. production, planning) and external customers (e.g. ABS, Navy, USCG) issues and interpretations as assigned.
- Demonstrates oral and written communication skills, including through e-mail, drafting presentations, reports, Q&As, and RFVs to peers and senior personnel.
- Participates in internal working groups, including documenting discussions, decisions, and outcomes.

- When instructed as to what requirements (such as rules, regulations, contracts, references) apply to executing a task, knows where to find them.
- Uses creative and analytical methods to develop, evaluate, and communicate the configuration and characteristics of a region, system, or component of the ship as governed by the assigned discipline, in compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree, Professional Engineer's License, or equivalent in Engineering or Applied Sciences.
