Quality EngineerLocation: Youngstown & North Lima area (works across three plant sites)Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000Position SummaryWe’re seeking a detail-focused Quality Engineer to uphold excellence across multiple plant locations. You'll ensure that internal standards, customer requirements, and contractual obligations are met by monitoring processes/products, identifying issues, and developing solutions. Your role also includes creating essential quality documentation and driving continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Develop, write, train, and implement quality management system (QMS) documentation.Define and enforce contract requirements; ensure production meets specifications before shipment.Conduct internal process audits to assess QMS effectiveness.Lead continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders.Audit new and existing vendors and maintain the Approved Vendor List.Support training for new and existing employees on standard procedures.Minimum Qualifications:5+ years experience in quality engineering (2- or 4-year technical degree can substitute some experience)Ability to interpret manufacturing codes, blueprints, and specification documentsExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilityStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred Qualifications:Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt a plus)ASQ certifications (CQA, CQE)Experience reading/interpreting customer blueprints & spec documentationBackground with Department of Defense (DoD) contract requirementsWelding/fabrication experience and familiarity with ASME‑coded shop environmentsNDE certification (VT/PT/MT) or potential to obtain Level I/IIWorking knowledge of GD&T principlesFamiliarity with AWS D1.1, ASME BPVC, and/or NAVSEA welding/fabrication/inspection codesExperience with weld program quality control (PQR/WPQ/WPS) documentationMechanical drawing, GD&T interpretation, and machining understandingPhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentAble to alternate between sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, squatting, and ladder climbingMust pass a vision acuity test and have fine motor proficiencyComfortable working around noise, fumes, and temperature variations
